Self-Adjusting Foot Support Apparatus
Patented dynamic foot support mechanism for humanoid robots, prosthetics, and exoskeletons
During my time at IIT Hyderabad, I designed a novel Self-Adjusting Foot Support Apparatus — a mechanism to dynamically adapt foot support systems for improved balance and movement stability.
CAD render of the self-adjusting foot support apparatus, designed for prosthetics, orthoses, and humanoid robots.
Applications
The mechanism is designed to enhance lateral stability in:
- Humanoid robots — improving dynamic balance during locomotion
- Prosthetic feet — adapting to uneven terrain for amputee users
- Exoskeletons — providing passive stabilization during assisted walking
